#1034 closed enhancement (fixed)

Start torrents with previous amount

Reported by: DISABLED Owned by: zzz
Priority: minor Milestone: 0.9.15
Component: apps/i2psnark Version:
Keywords: Cc:
Parent Tickets: Sensitive: no

In XL, there is a switch: <input type="checkbox" title="If true, starting torrents with the informations of stored up- and download amount by your previous sessions" checked="" value="true" name="startAmount">.

I find that to be very useful, also, to calculate the losses. Everyone should be able to see how much effort is needed, to copy the data from A to B. ;)

Thanks in advance,

#1132: New per-torrent config system for i2psnarkclosedzzz

Is it saved across restarts?

Is it so useful? I don't understand why.

a) Yes, the data is stored.

b) For clarification. I see what was generally distributed.

For files, that are 10GB, the peer looks only 2-3GB after every reboot of finished (daily) uploading. To fully distribute 10 GB of data to the first peer, an upload of 20-25 GB is required (the Snark clients do not spread properly). The other peers only see the 2-3 GB of the meeting – and some are confused. After 7 days, I am confused, too. The first ready-peer is already jumped, two more have left at 4GB. And all I can demonstrate are the 2GB of today.

Again, everyone should be able to see how much effort is needed, to copy the data from A to B. With this function, each has his personal ratio in view.

Look XL at times and the comfort that this program brings. Some of it would go well with Snark.

(Please excuse my robot-english.)

I checked the XL code, it does store it in the config file. Might be able to borrow some of that code but XL and i2psnark have diverged significantly.

Like in #1028 this would benefit from an advanced preferences storage. It's really messy to store lots of per-torrent data in the config file.

Low-priority but possible.
