#1085 assigned enhancement

Make I2P easier for academic research

Reported by: str4d Owned by: sadie
Priority: major Milestone: 0.9.36
Component: www/i2p Version: 0.9.8.1

Description

Tor has far more academic interest than I2P. But Tor has better documentation, better tools and resources for researchers, and there are established research groups with close ties to the Tor developers. This ticket is about helping I2P to get ongoing research interest.

Tor has a research portal to make starting out easier, and publicly-available network data for analysis. We should look at these for ideas (or emulate them). We also need to improve our existing documentation, or maybe split it into "descriptive/explanatory docs" and "technical specifications".

/<lang>/research is the central location on the I2P website for information related to academic research. This will be the starting point for researchers, so it needs more content.

We have the beginnings of Research Portal that have been proposed and review has been requested. Aside from considering the creating of the portal, we can also ensure that we keep our Academic Research page up to date.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
