I may have changed this check mark myself. If so my utmost humble apologies for wasting your time. I don't think I did though.

If you go to, then the I2P HTTP Proxy page, the " Close tunnels when idle" is checked. The problem with this is I would be running Snark then when I tried to go to a tracker homepage the tracker would never be able to be reached. As a newbie how would I ever know to go and uncheck this? Most people would just assume it sucked and didn't work. I found about the "Close tunnels when idle" check function from this thread.

People also said hit F5 a lot. Well who would think of this?

It's maybe causing another problem. I notice when you can't get tracker home pages to load the "status indicator icon" on the left hand side of Stark would show "tracker error". Normally it would show no peers, seeding or OK when first started. Does the status indicator depend on HTTP Proxy? If so it would seem that it should use Snark tunnels instead of HTTP Proxy tunnels. (I may have said something incredibly stupid there so please excuse if so).

Close-when-idle does indeed default to off. You can verify when creating a new tunnel.

The i2ptunnel settings do not affect snark. Snark uses its own tunnels for announces.

There is an unfixed bug causing connections to fail after a reopen. See #1650 #1698

There's a little bit of everything in this ticket, not sure what to do with it.
