The easiest solution would be

--- wrapper.config      2011-06-14 12:53:34.750540867 +0000
+++ wrapper.config.new  2011-06-14 12:53:20.535405050 +0000
@@ -234,5 +234,5 @@
 wrapper.ntservice.starttype=AUTO_START

 # Allow the service to interact with the desktop.
-wrapper.ntservice.interactive=true
+wrapper.ntservice.interactive=false

A downside to this would be that the systray icon wouldn't be shown. If this is an acceptable trade-off I can check this change in.

I went ahead and did this change (20f0c02073dd5498b0e94e4435e3244f7a69bfeb) since the benefits far outweigh any detriment.
